The First Example of a Custom Raven PK1 Knife

Right from the outset, the Raven PK1 Bushcraft Knife was conceived as a bespoke product.

Even though the initial knife specification was dubbed the “standard model”, Simon was keen that his customers didn’t feel that they were restricted to a one-size-fits-all product.

When the PK1 Knife was first launched, Simon Fearnamm of Raven Armoury offered various indicative options but really wanted potential purchasers to understand that “anything goes”. The only real proviso was that it was worth bearing in mind that custom work often adds a little time to production.

These knives are not a stock product or mass produced. They are hand made to Raven’s exacting standards and can be produced longer, shorter, fatter or thinner. Raven Armoury also offer the blades in different steels and a multitude of options for materials for both the grips and fittings.

We are already starting to see the results of bespoke customisations, specified by clients. The above O-1 steel-bladed knife was such a bespoke order, recently received by a customer. This stunning version of the knife has ivory micarta scales and red liners.

We’re really looking forward to seeing what other versions are devised.

This is my knife and I received my PK1 limited custom made knife a few days ago, I have to say it is a work of art. It really should be exhibited in a museum of Bushcraft knives… Its design is superb, the weight and balance is pure brilliance. It was a present from my Wife Cheryl and daughter Eva (2yrs and 9 months and already her favourite past time is going in the woods with Daddy). This knife was little more than the normal because I had a few little cosmetics put on my knife but well worth it. A REAL GEM that has now become a family heirloom I LOVE IT.

Simon at Raven Armoury is a perfectionist to say the least, a real pleasant man to deal with and I have actually made an arrangement to go and see him next time I am in the area.

Thank you Paul and thank you Simon.

Looking forward to using it on Frontier Course too.

Good Work as always, keep it up.
    Kindest Regards

    Marcus

      Hi Marcus,

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a glowing first impression of your knife. You are a very lucky man, not only to have such a lovely wife and daughter but to receive such a generous gift.

As you say, Simon is a perfectionist and the PK1 is made to last. I hope you get many long years of use from your knife and it accompanies you on some great adventures.

Looking forwards to seeing you in the woods soon.

      All the best,

      Paul
