Nathan joined the Frontier Bushcraft team in 2022. Born and raised in Cornwall, Nathan developed a deep love for nature through moorland walks, swimming, and foraging, inspired by his parents. As a teenager, he expanded his outdoor skills with camping and fishing trips, practicing bushcraft techniques.
To deepen his knowledge, Nathan attended several bushcraft courses, including those with Woodlore and Frontier, which inspired him to become a Course Assistant. He enjoys upland and mountain skills, hiking, and camping in areas like Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor, Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands, and the Swiss Alps. Nathan is currently pursuing a qualification as a Hill and Moorland Leader.
Passionate about shooting, Nathan has been around guns from a young age, influenced by his father and late grandfather. He enjoys deer stalking, small game hunting, and clay shooting, holding a DSC1 certificate. He also has experience with small-bore rifle shooting and wilderness navigation from his time in the Air Cadets.
Outside of his outdoor interests, Nathan lifts weights and plays acoustic guitar, banjo, and bass guitar. When he isn’t working with Frontier, Nathan works for a Cornish precision engineering company and holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Sussex.
