Tommy Andrews, Frontier Bushcraft

Tommy, a professional musician and educator, has collaborated with renowned orchestras, big bands, theatre productions, and solo artists. He has also recorded for major film and television productions.

Growing up between the New Forest and Cranborne Chase, Tommy’s fondest childhood memories are tied to the outdoors. His family frequently explored diverse habitats, instilling in him a deep connection with nature. At 13, Tommy fell in love with the Lake District and has since spent countless days in the Lakes, North Wales, and Scotland, completing numerous backpacking, rock climbing, and winter mountaineering trips.

Tommy’s bushcraft journey began during lockdown in 2020, leading him to enroll in the Elementary and Intermediate courses. Tommy reckons joining Frontier Bushcraft as a Course Assistant in 2022 has been one of the most rewarding opportunities of his life. He has furthered his skills through various courses and expeditions, including the Northwoods Winter Experience.

Now a father of two, Tommy enjoys adventuring with his family, exploring trails, and spending long summer days canoeing. He delights in passing on his knowledge and skills to his children, fostering their connection to nature.
